I have no clue if it´s really better or not there is less moving weight which should make the suspension more accurate. But you probably don´t feel a difference, just looks better IMO

I know why man! Because nowdays everyone is worried about the weight of the bike, so the bikes are thiner, less travel and weaker in my opinion.
